I put Traktor on auto-pilot and walked away for a minute. I started up LatencyMon again and started playing audio in Traktor. I restarted the laptop, as directed, and had a moment of panic when it just went black and sat there forever, but it eventually recycled and I was hopeful the results would be good. After digging deeper it seeems like that one only becomes an issue when others stack up behind it.

So I downloaded and installed a mass "Driver Update" app, which blasted through the ones I missed and picked up a lot of firmware & BIOS options as well.Īs an aside, the Wdf01000.sys driver seems to be a recurring culprit with Latency and comes up in many searches, but Microsoft dodges any and all questions about it.

I felt like I was on a good path here and started updating drivers one by one, but that got old quick. All of them fairly common drivers (see screenshot). That said, the LatencyMon app indicated 5 drivers were well over the advised 1 ms "limit". Although I'm sure these changes didn't hurt, with 16 GB of memory and a multi-core i7, there is no good reason for latency to be an issue INSIDE Traktor. It lasted about 6 minutes before glitching out. I installed this, started the monitoring, and started playing audio in Traktor with the Numark controller and Traktor Audio 2 soundcard hooked up. Which was stupid and annoying.Īs suggested in the Native Instruments doc, I downloaded and installed "LatencyMon", which is similar to some of the other products suggested in this thread. I ran into some oddball "missing" options in control panel and settings, most notably some of the Power options (such as "USB selective suspend setting") and had to edit the registry to re-add them back in AND THEN change them.

The first thing I did was adjust the regular-ass latency settings in Traktor, disable that stupid "multi-core processing" thing that doesn't work, and make sure that the Traktor 3 software was up to date (it was) and the Traktor Audio 2 drivers were current (they were). Posting my entire process here for anyone who wants to nerd out. Ok, so I'm 90% certain I've fixed the problem, and it's stupid and random as hell. Īny input would be appreciated, thanks all!! The WINDOWS COMPATIBILITY page show the TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK1 and TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK2 as compatible with Windows 10, but not the AUDIO 2 DJ. Audio distortion bug fix Win10-certified" The DRIVER download page lists both the TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 and TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK2 as supported on "Windows 7 and above" with an info note that states "The package installs the Windows driver (version 4.2.0) for Traktor Audio 2. Has anyone else experienced this? It looks like the newer, Traktor Audio 2 MK2, *may* be supported with Windows 10? I've seen conflicting information on NI's website & elsewhere that this audio interface may have problems with Windows 10, even with the latest drivers, which were released in 2015. Seems like that's been problematic for some people?Ģ.) I'm using an original Traktor Audio 2 interface (not the "DJ" or "MK" version).

The only two things I could come up with are:ġ.) I may possibly need to uncheck the "Multi-Core Processor Support" box. I'm not exactly a noob here, but looking for quicker answers since I'm on a tight deadline.

I have literally NOT installed anything else on this laptop yet, and the thing is siginifcantly more powerful as my old one, so I'm not sure what gives. Now, I've gone through the obvious stuff, killing wifi/bluetooth and setting the buffer much higher than seems necessary, which helps maybe a little. Also, sometimes tracks appear to play slower, or faster, than their actual BPM's. Trouble is, something is causing it to seize up every few songs, the screen freezes and is unresponsive to mouse or controller commands, the track I'm playing will essentially get stuck in a 1-second (or less) loop, and the only way to resume is to kill Traktor and re-launch the application. I took the opportunity to buy NEW Windows 10 laptop with beefed-up specs, purchased and installed Traktor 3, re-imported all my music, and started prepping for a gig this Friday (10/25). It *had* been running the software rather flawlessly, so this is a bit of a buzzkill.

To make a long story short, my old laptop running Windows 8 + Traktor 2 suddenly died at a VERY inconvenient time. Hey ya'll, please excuse the mild cross-posting, but I'm trying to get to the bottom of this quickly.
